The first tourist worker arrived to the area in 1910. It was a reindeer keeper, Nils Olsson Sarri, from the norwegian side of the mountains who settled in Nikkaluokta by the Laddtju creek with hos wife Maria. They lost their heard of reindeers after several harsh winter pasturages at the beginning of the previous century, and were therefor compelled to resaddle to other occupation. They decided to make a go of the tourisms incipient in the mountains. Due to the ore track that was built in 1903 the tourism had increased.<\/p>\n

Sarri came into the Swedish tourist association service early and became overseer for the newly built mountain station at Kebnekaise. Enok, the oldest son, took his father’s footsteps. He also had an extraordinary sence for PR. The tails and weather forecasts of Enok Sarri from the valley of Laddtju became legendary, but he was primarily a man of tourism. He guided visitors from the whole world in the mountains and up on the highest peaks.<\/p>\n

The tourist operation is continued by Enok’s son Nils Sarri and grandson Andreas Sarri. The operation consists of accommodation and restaurant, boating and guided winter activities.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
